‘Squid Game’ Season Two: Salesman’s Return Signals New Challenges

The highly anticipated second season of Netflix’s hit series, Squid Game, has finally dropped its first teaser, offering a tantalizing glimpse into the grim world of survival games. According to Screenrant, the teaser shows the return of the Salesman played by Gong Yoo (Train to Busan), who was the person that lore and recruits individuals such as Gi-hun played by Lee Jung-jae (The Acolyte) into playing a game with him. It shows the characters in his apartment preparing to start his job, and he also grabs blue and red Ddakji paper titles and ends with him saying,”would you like to play a game with me?”.

According to Screenrant, the second season could explore more into the character, as well deeper understanding on inner workings of the game. The new season will surely be filled with deadlier challenges and similar to the first one with red light green light, tug of war and glass stepping stone. In a previous mxdwn post, footages was revealed at this year’s Geek Week that gives a glimpse into the action and obstacles that the challengers will have to overcome.

According to a mxdwn post, the new challengers of the second season will include Yim Si-Wan (Emergency Declaration), Kang Ha-Neul (The Pirates: The Last Royal Treasure) and Park Sung-Hoon (A Frozen Flower), alongside returning characters such as Lee Jung-jae, Wi Ha-jun (Midnight) as Detective Hwang Jun-Ho, Lee Byung-Hun (Concrete Utopia) and Gong Yoo.

While the teaser doesn’t reveal much about the plot of season two but will surely be similar to the previous season, it does succeed in building anticipation for the upcoming series. While fans are awaiting news on the release date of the approaching season, the entire first one of Squid Game is available to stream on Netflix. Time will only tell how the new contenders will outsmart and survive the deadly challenges that await them.
