According to Comicbook, the popular hit Korean drama series Squid Game is starting production on its second season, and a teaser has been shared. The series showcases challengers partaking in deadly challenges based on childhood games such as red light, green light, tug-of-war and many others. The previous season finale ended with Gi-Hun, played by Lee Jung-jae (The Acolyte), fighting against Sang-woo, played by Park Hae-soo (Prison Playbook), who, in the end, stabs himself, making Gi-Hun the winner. We then see him getting on the plane with dyed red hair, and he receives a phone call congratulating him. However, he has enough and turns around.
Along with Lee Jung-jae, returning characters will include Lee Byung-Hun (Concrete Utopia) as the Front Man, Wi Ha-jun (Midnight)as Detective Hwang Jun-Ho and Gong Yoo (Train to Busan), who portrayed the unnamed recruiter for the games. A list of the new additions to the second season has been revealed on Comicbook, which consists of Yim Si-Wan (Emergency Declaration), Kang Ha-Neul (The Pirates: The Last Royal Treasure) and Park Sung-Hoon (A Frozen Flower), whose roles are unconfirmed at the moment.
The teaser primarily focuses on the numbers assigned to the new contestants, hinting at the vast pool of desperate individuals vying for the ultimate prize while promising a continuation of the intense psychological warfare and shocking twists that captivated audiences worldwide.
