Sprout will give subscribers access to content anywhere they please, anytime and on any device with Sprout NOW.
Sprout is geared towards preschoolers and their families and will allow viewers to access to their favorite series, including The Chica Show, Noodle and Doodle, Caillou and Sesame Street. In the U.S., there will be exclusive access to Lazytown and Tree Fu Tom on www.sproutonline.com/now and Sprout NOW. The Sprout NOW app is available for Apple devices. The app not only offers full episodes on demand but also offers live linear stream of programming. A Sprout NOW app for androids will be available later this year.
“Sprout was originally conceived as a multi-platform destination for preschoolers and their caregivers, and it’s always been a cornerstone of our strategy to ensure our series and content are available wherever families are,” said Sandy Wax, President of Sprout. “Sprout NOW delivers on our commitment to provide Sprout’s much loved programming anytime and anyplace.”
Subscribers of participating MVPDs will get access to TV Everywhere on an authenticated basis. They will be able to access Sprout’s digital touch points on PCs, smart phones and tablets. This may also include access through apps and websites of participating cable, satellite and telco services. Some of these services include AT&T U-verse® TV, BrightHouse, Cablevision’s Optimum TV, Charter, Comcast’s Xfinity TV, Cox Communications, DIRECTV, Mediacom, Time Warner Cable, Verizon FiOS, and Wide Open West (WOW).
“Sprout NOW is yet another example of NBCUniversal’s commitment to TV Everywhere, engaging viewers with quality content on multiple platforms,” said Ron Lamprecht, Executive Vice President, NBCUniversal Digital Distribution. “Sprout is now among many of NBCUniversal’s valued networks that offer content to its distribution partners and our viewers wherever and whenever they want it.”
