So far we have been given nonstop action when it comes to the fifth season of The Boys. With Homelander on a tyrannical rise to power and Butcher and his companions racing to find a way to kill Homelander once and for all in this epic conclusion. Spoiler warning for anyone who has not seen the first two episodes of the show.
For those who don’t know, Prime Video’s The Boys, has made it to its final season where we will be given a conclusion to everything that has transpired so far. In episode one, we witness Homelander using the public execution of Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie as a trap in order to lure in Starlight and Butcher. However, the plot is quickly thwarted thanks to Starlight and A-Train, who in his last moment distracts Homelander by having him chase him away from the Boys, only for Homelander to catch up with him and kill him completing his redemption arc.
Before the fifth season aired, there had been sights of an actor who was on Supernatural with Jensen Ackles (Tracker, Countdown) the actor was Jared Padalecki (Fire Country, Walker) and it was confirmed that he would be in the series, but it was unclear what character he would be playing. According to Comicbook, in an interview Padalecki confirmed that he would be playing Supe by the name of Mister Marathon. In the original comics, Mister Marathon was the first speedster to be on the super team known as “The Seven,” however due to accident where the Seven was trying to stop a plane that was hijacked by terrorists Mister Marathon died because of Homelander’s incompetence. As for the tv show, this could prove vital for the Seven, considering the fact that they have no speedster on the team, perhaps Mister Marathon will join the team in an effort to stop Butcher and his team from trying to kill Homelander and take down Vought.
The next episode for the series will drop this Wednesday on Prime Video.
