The dust has settled, and the third season of Fallout is gearing up to explore new territory beyond the Wasteland. According to Screen Rant, the season finale revealed that The Ghoul, portrayed by Walton Goggins (The White Lotus, Sons of Anarchy), discovered the cryo pods of his wife, Barb, played by Frances Turner (The Gifted, Ghostbusters), and their daughter, Janey, portrayed by Teagan Meredith (The Calling, Memo Inc). Unfortunately, the pods were empty, but they contained a note that sets The Ghoul on a quest to Colorado
Furthermore, in the story, we see that Lucy, played by Ella Purnell (Arcane, Yellowjackets), comes to terms with how much the wasteland has changed her, but Maximus, played by Aaron Moten (Father Stu, Emancipation), assures her that despite all the chaos, everything will be okay.
Reported by Screenrant’s Grant Hermanns, who goes on to interview the series showrunner, Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Captain Marvel, Tomb Raider) and Todd Howard (Skynet, Gameplay) about their personal opinion of the finale.
Dworet goes on to state to Screenrant about the mental state of the Ghoul and his ongoing search,” He has a number of problems, which is that what he’s looking for right now is a needle in a haystack. All he’s got right now is Colorado to find who he’s looking for. So, he needs to figure out more specifically where he is going, and that might take him a beat and lead him somewhere else. And Lucy and Max, we haven’t quite teased where they are heading yet…but what exactly it is for each character we are still not committing to yet.”
Howard continues the conversation with Screenrant,”As Jonah [Nolan] says, there’s a lot of fresh snow out there. I think what’s exciting, if we view each season as a chapter of Fallout, where can we go? What kind of new things can we show as well that potentially the games really haven’t touched on? And that’s an exciting opportunity.”
The third season, set in Colorado, will undoubtedly spotlight familiar organizations from the game, particularly the Enclave, making them the central focus and primary target for the group. Viewers can stream both seasons of Fallout which are available on Prime Video, while waiting on further information on the future third season.
