Spectrum Originals Psychological Drama ‘Angela Black’ Appoint Joanne Froggatt As Female Lead

Spectrum Originals and ITV announce Joanne Froggatt’s (Island At War) role as Angela in the thriller series Angela Black according to Deadline.  The series was ordered from Fleabag production company Two Brothers Pictures, Harry Williams (Flea Bag), and Jack Williams (Liar).

“I am honoured to be working with Two Brothers Pictures again and this important and timely story from the brilliant Harry and Jack Williams is like nothing I’ve read before. Angela is a complex and intriguing character and I hope audiences will be immediately drawn into her gripping, and sometimes heart-breaking journey, just as I was”, says Froggatt via Deadline.

The six-part drama features a suburban housewife that has a false ‘perfect living’ facade. Although, living in an idealistic house in suburban London with her two sons and charismatic husband, Oliver. Angela is a victim of domestic abuse that is unseen by those outside the home. Out of the blue, Angela is approached by a private investigator, Ed that helps expose her husband’s darkest secrets. Michiel Huisman (Game of Thrones) plays Olivier and Samuel Adewunmi (Stan Lee’s Lucky Man) plays the exposing private investigator, Ed. The producer of the Angela Black series is Natasha Romaniuk (Les Misérables). Both William brothers work alongside Christopher Arid (The Tourist) and Sarah Hammond (Back to Life) on executive production for the series.Despite COVID-19 affecting production for different television series, Angela Black is currently in production as they follow safety protocol.
