According to Deadline, Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) has introduced over 50 FAST channels across Europe.
Shows such as Seinfeld, Breaking Bad, and Bewitched will be accessible on the Sony One portfolio as a result of agreements made with LG Channels, Samsung TV Plus, and TiVo+.
Roku has also made a FAST channel deal recently, marking an agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery, featuring titles like Westworld, The Bachelor, and Say Yes to the Dress.
Sony One’s channels will be tailored and scheduled for local audiences in various regions, with content predominantly broadcasted in each area’s native language. The initial launch territories encompass the UK, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland.
“Sony Pictures recognizes the potential of the free ad-supported television space to engage new viewers globally with our extensive feature film and TV series catalog spanning 100 years,” said Pete Wood, SVP, Digital Sales, Distribution, SPE. “Our entry into the FAST space in Europe reflects our dedication to making premium content accessible to audiences on new and important distribution channels.”
Among the 54 channels are Sony One Comedy TV, offering beloved sitcoms like The Nanny and The Goldbergs, Sony One Faves presenting timeless classics such as Dawson’s Creek, and Sony One Shark Tank, highlighting the enduring reality series.
Besides Sony One, SPE’s FAST lineup comprises Sony KAL Hindi, serving as its Hindi destination in the U.S. and Canada, a collection of Spanish-language FAST channels tailored for the U.S. Hispanic audience, and FAST channels available in Mexico and Brazil.
