Saturday Night Live reached an average household rating of 4.6 in metered markets and 2.6 with adults 18-49.
According to Deadline, SNL was hosted for the first time by Jim Parsons of The Big Bang Theory and featured musical guest Beck. The rating went down from the last original episode aired on February 1, when Melissa McCarthy hosted the farewell to Seth Meyers. Although it was down, the episode was on par for the season. Previous episodes before the February 1 SNL pulled in ratings of 4.8/2.6 and 4.7/2.7.
The show was delayed on the East Coast by 10 minutes. This episode featured the debut of new Weekend Update co-anchor Colin Jost, according to Deadline. He said it was “a dream come true” to replace Meyers on Weekend Update.
