Two of Fox’s dramas are set to crossover next season.
The realistic and veteran crime procedural Bones will crossover with the fantasy/sci-fi thriller Sleepy Hollow. Characters from both will be brought together for the upcoming crossover event, though details on what it will look like are scarce, according to Variety.
The Executive Producers for both shows have an inventive idea on how to bring together the two very different universes in a way that feels natural, according to TVLine. No details on how the crossover will work have been released. There’s no information on what characters will be involved and which show’s setting it will take place in.
Bones takes place in Washington, D.C. and Sleepy Hollow takes place in, well, Sleepy Hollow. To get an idea of how different the shows are, Bones solves crimes through forensic analysis and Sleepy Hollow solves supernatural crimes with the help of Ichabod Crane who awoke in modern times after being dead for 230 years. Sleepy Hollow is loosely based on the short story by Washington Irving.
In other Sleepy Hollow news, Twilight’s Nikki Reed will play Betsy Ross. In addition to being the creator of the American flag, she’s also one of George Washington’s spies and a former love interest of Ichabod Crane in the Sleepy Hollow version of American history, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Originally the crossover event was going to happen in the fall when the shows both returned but logistical issues have pushed it back to the spring. Bones will be entering its 11th season and Sleepy Hollow will be on its 3rd when both return this fall. The shows air back-to-back on Thursday nights.
