Six New Faces Join the Opulent World of ‘The Gilded Age’ in Season three

As The Gilded Age returns for its highly anticipated third season, fans can look forward to six new cast members more drama, opulence, and societal clashes set against the backdrop of late 19th-century New York.

 

The new season welcomes a fresh batch of cast members, adding new layers to the already complex dynamics between the old-money van Rhijn-Brook family and the rising Russell clan. With Julian Fellowes at the helm, viewers can expect even more intrigue, power struggles, and lavish period details as the story continues to unfold.

HBO has hosted The Gilded Age on its platform for a few years now, consistently delivering captivating drama with its stellar cast. As Season three gears up, the series expands its ensemble with six new supporting cast members: Dylan Baker (Good Wife, Hunters) Kate Baldwin (Hello, Dolly! Supergirl), Michael Cumpsty (Severance, Billions) John Ellison Conlee (Boardwalk Empire, The Deuce) Bobby Steggert (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Mad Men), and newcomer Hannah Shealy (Rose Tattoo, Law & Order: SVU), via Deadline. With these fresh faces joining the show, viewers can expect even more drama, intrigue, and power struggles in the opulent world of Gilded Age New York.

Baker joins The Gilded Age as Dr. Logan, a family doctor who serves several prominent high society families, while Baldwin “Nancy Adams Bell” the older sister of Adams “Claybourne Elder “. Michael Cumpsty “Lord Mildmay” British nobleman visiting Sidmouth Castle for dinner, and John Ellison Conlee takes on the role of Weston, a successful and refined businessman.  Steggert plays the renowned artist John Singer Sargent, who is just beginning his career painting New York’s elite women, and newcomer Shealy “Charlotte Astor” the married daughter of Mrs. Astor (Donna Murphy), recently returned from a dramatic trip abroad.

 The Gilded Age continues to chronicle the dramatic shifts of America’s Gilded Age, a time of profound economic and social change, where vast fortunes could be gained or lost in an instant. As the old guard is pushed aside, New York’s high society is upended, with everyone scrambling to secure their place in this new world. Yet, as the series unfolds, even the most powerful figures may learn that the cost of progress is higher than they ever imagined, Deadline reports.

Season three also introduces a diverse ensemble of fresh faces: Bill Camp (The Night Of, The Queen’s Gambit) ” JP Morgan, Merritt Wever “Monica O’Brien” (Nurse Jackie and Unbelievable) Leslie Uggams (EmpireRoots)” Mrs. Ernestine Brown”, Lisagay Hamilton(The Practice and House of Cards) “Frances Ellen Watkins Harper, Andrea Martin (My Big Fat Greek Wedding , Great News)“Madame Dashkova”, Paul Alexander Nolan (Escape at Dannemora and Chicago Med)”Alfred Merrick” Hattie Morahan(Beauty and the Beast and The Bletchley Circle)“Lady Sarah Vere” and Jessica Frances Dukes(Ozark and Jessica Jones) “Athena Trumbo”.

Under the helm of creator Julian Fellowes (Downton Abbey, Belgravia) The Gilded Age has secured its place as a historical drama masterpiece. Fellowes teams up with writer and executive producer Sonja Warfield (Will & Grace, Good Behavior). The show’s executive production dream team includes Gareth Neame (Downton Abbey, The Last Kingdom) David Crockett (Escape at Dannemora, Ed Wood), Michael Engler (Sex and the City, 30 Rock) and Salli Richardson-Whitfield (Eureka, Being Mary Jane), who also direct. The illustrious Bob Greenblatt (Six Feet Under, The Sopranos) joins them. Adding depth and accuracy to the historical narrative, Erica Dunbar (Truth Be Told, Hamilton: History Has Its Eyes on You) serves as both historical consultant and co-executive producer.

According to an article via Deadline A collaborative effort between HBO and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, The Gilded Age benefits from the skilled casting directors Bernie Telsey(Only Murders in the Building, The Color Purple) and Adam Caldwell (Little America, Funny Pages) of the Telsey Office.

Baker is represented by Innovative Artists and Viking Entertainment, while Baldwin is represented by Paradigm and Schachter Entertainment.  Cumpsty is with Innovative Artists, and   Conlee is represented by Innovative Artists and Meghan Schumacher Management. Steggert finds representation through Wolf Talent Group, and newcomer Shealy is with Untitled Entertainment and CESD Talent Agency.
