The Boys is based on the bestselling comic by Garth Ennis (Batman: Reptilian) and Darick Robertson (Transmetropolitan) of the same name. Via the official Prime Video description, the series is “ an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about ‘The Seven,’ and their formidable Vought backing.”
The Boys was developed by showrunner Eric Kripke, who also happens to be the writer and executive producer of the series.
The renewal for a fourth season was officially announced in June of 2022. Filming started in Toronto in August. At the moment, there is not an official release date for season four of The Boys.
