During the Britain’s Got Talent finale, the world was shocked when Simon Cowell was egged during the live broadcast.
According to Entertainment Weekly, a viola player by the name of Natalie Holt threw raw eggs at Cowell during Richard and Adam Johnson’s finale performance. Holt was previously a contestant on Britain’s Got Talent.
Huffington Post reports that Cowell followed the incident with a tweet saying, “I really don’t like eggs”.
Twenty minutes later, he added, “Just watched the Adam and Richard performance back. They didn’t miss a note”. This was Cowell’s way of really appreciating the performance, as the eggs distracted him during the live performance.
Daily Mail reports that Holt released a statement through the show saying, “I want to apologize to Richard and Adam for overshadowing their performance. I’ve never done anything like this before and in hindsight I have realized it was a silly thing to do.”
