Shudder’s bone chilling original series, Creepshow is thrilled after its announcement for a season 2 renewal.
The reason for the season 2 announcement, is thanks to the shows dedicated fan base and outward curiosity for the show, it was so well received by audiences that it rated an outstanding Fresh stamp of approval on Rotten Tomatoes. The series was also able to boost Shudder’s overall subscription sales with over 50 percent of its subscribing viewers tuning into the show as of September 26th,because of this it is considered to be the most watched show in its opening weekend, according to Deadline.
Creepshow, is an anthological show that is based on the 1982 comic book and horror film series written by Steven King and director by George A. Romero. Season one of the series portrays twelve different horror themed storylines that is spanned across six one hour long episodes that is supposedly narrated by “The Creepshow Ghoul”, a skeleton with eyes that is seen on many Creepshow themed posters and trailers. Greg Nicotero, who is the executive producer and showrunner for the series also writes alongside Steven King, Joe R. Lansdale, Joe Hill, and Josh Malerman as for many others also credited to the thriller series.
The show includes actors familiar to the horror scene like everyone’s favorite deputy David Arquette (Scream) as well as David A. MacDonald (Stranger Things), Jeffrey Combs (The Frighteners), Kid Cudi (Need for Speed), Adrienne Barbeau (Argo), DJ Qualls (Supernatural), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad) and Tricia Helfer (Lucifer). There is no word so far as to a date for when they might start to begin filming let alone when Season 2 will premiere on the AMC Network platform. Creepshow’s final episode of the season will air tomorrow, Thursday, October 31ston Halloween Day.
Shudder’s streaming service which is owned and operated by the AMC Network focuses on streaming content including television and movies that is mainly from the Thriller, Suspense, and Horror genre (including but not limited to sharing fundamental films in the horror genre, sub-horror genres, cult horror, science fiction, horror classics and many more) hence the name of the service.
