Shudder Gives Third Season Renewal to ‘Creepshow’

The streaming service Shudder has announced that its series Creepshow received a renewal for a third season, according to Deadline. This upcoming third season will consist of six more episodes for the horror anthology series and is aiming for a premiere in late 2021. With its status as an anthology series, the third season will feature some new guest stars for stand-alone episodes. Despite announcing the third season, Creepshow is still priming itself for the premiere of its second season on April 1. This second season will be made available on the streaming service itself as well as AMC+.

Creepshow is based on Stephen King’s (It) 1982 film under the same name which saw the film composed of five different short horror stories that were derived from 1950s horror comics. The series premiered in 2019 and its first season saw six episodes split into two different horror stories, playing upon the stories from these classic horrors comic books as they come to life within the story world. The television adaptation saw Greg Nicotero (The Walking Dead) board the project as an executive producer and showrunner. Its first season included some cast members such as Kid Cudi (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), David Arquette (Scream), Cailey Fleming (The Walking Dead), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, The Boys), Tobin Bell (Saw), and many more.

The newly announced third season of Creepshow accompanied the news of the casting decisions of Ethan Embry (Can’t Hardly Wait) and Andrew Bachelor (The Walking Dead) to appear in the horror anthology. Creepshow has garnered critical acclaim for its first season, scoring a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes
