

According to Deadline, the original Showtime’s Dexter: Resurrection series adds Emmy and Tony Award winner Neil Patrick Harris (Doogie Howser, M.D.) as a guest star. Harris will be taking on the role of Lowell in the series when it premieres. Production on the series has been underway since January and will air this summer on Paramount+ with Showtime.
Harris is known for his roles as Barney Stinson in How I Met Your Mother and How I Met Your Father, Michael in Uncoupled, Count Olaf in A Series of Unfortunate Events and most recently as The Toymaker in Doctor Who.
Dexter: Resurrection is a Showtime original series that follows the story of Dexter Morgan, a serial killer who returns after a near-fatal shooting. The series continues after the events of Dexter: New Blood and Dexter: Original Sin.
The series stars Micheal C. Hall (Six Feet Under) as Dexter, Peter Dinklage (The Mysterious Affair at Styles) as Leon, Kirsten Ritter (Jessica Jones) as Mia, Uma Thurman (Kill Bill: Vol. 1) as Charlie, James Remar (IT: Welcome to Derry) as Harry, David Zayas (Blue Bloods) as Detective Angel, Marc Manchaca (Ozark) as Red, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine (The Lincoln Lawyer) as Blessing Kamara, Kadia Saraf (The Blacklist) as Detective Claudette Wallace, Dominic Fumusa (Nurse Jackie) as Detective Melvin Oliva, Emilia Suárez (Emilia Suárez: Timing) as Elsa Rivera.and many others.
Dexter: Resurrection is executive produced by Clyde Phillips (Dexter, Nurse Jackie), who also returns to serve as showrunner, and produced by Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios. Hall also serves as executive producer along with Scott Reynolds (The Ugly), Tony Hernandez (Broad City) and Lilly Burns (Search Party) with Marcos Siega (Chaos Theory) serving as producing director. Monica Raymund (Lie to Me) will direct four episodes, and Siega will direct six episodes for the series. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
