According to Deadline, Showtime revealed the premiere date and the teaser trailer for season six of The Chi. The series will be available to stream on Paramount+ and on demand on August 4, and then will make its Showtime on-air debut at 9 p.m. on Sunday, August 6, on the network.
The season consists of two eight-episode installments, with 16 episodes total and the second installment debuting at a later date.

Epps (Chicago Med, Chicago Fire).

The Chi is a coming-of-age story that follows a group of residents on the South Side of Chicago. They become linked by coincidence, however, they are bonded by the need for connection and redemption. It is created by Lena Waithe (Master of None, Twenties) and comes from 20th Television.
Waithe executive produces the series under her Hillman Grad Banner. Justin Hillian (Snowfall, I’m Dying Up Here) and Jewel Coronel (Star, Miss 2059) executive produce as well as co-showrun season six. Deondray Gossfield (The Chadwick Journals, The DL Chronicles) and Quincy LeNear Gossfield (Flames, Congo Cabaret) produce and will direct multiple episodes of the season.
Executive producers also include Common (Selma, John Wick: Chapter 2), Aaron Kaplan (The Neighbors, A Million Little Things), Rishi Rajani (Jane, Huella), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope, The Mandalorian), Shelby Stone (Single Ladies, Bessie), and Derek Dudley (Meet the Blacks, The Last Two Lovers at the End of the World).
