A new trailer for Season 7 and a poster for Showtime’s Ray Donovan, has just been released leading up to the premiere on Sunday, November 17 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Series star, Liev Schreiber has been nominated three times for an Emmy and gained five Golden Globe nominations for his role as the titular character. Created by Ann Biderman for Showtime, the crime drama originally premiered in 2013, breaking viewership records for the network, with the pilot episode deemed as the biggest premiere for a series.
Set in Los Angeles, California, Irish-American Ray Donovan is originally from South Boston and works for the powerful law firm Goldman & Drexler. There, he represents the very rich and famous individuals by day, but at night he moonlights as a “cleaner/fixer” for criminals in the form of bribes, payoffs, and other illegal activities. Despite being very good at his side-gig, Donovan is considered a devoted family man even though his father Mickey Donovan (played by Jon Voight) poses a different set of problems for him.
The series’ Season 7 will follow Donovan as he struggles to put his past behind him, as he works towards becoming a better man for his family by visiting with Dr. Amiot (five-time Emmy and Golden Globe winner Alan Alda). However, even as he attempts to run a new page, corrupt NYC mayor Ed Feratti (Zach Grenier) and an unrelenting NYPD officer drudge up the depths Ray’s past. Feratti’s corruption brings to the forefront Mickey’s past as well, leading the fixer to head back to New York in order to confront his past once and for all.
Bunchy (Dash Mihok) tries to start his life anew as well and becomes roommates with Ray in his apartment while working at a local pharmacy as a shelf stocker, meanwhile Terry (Eddie Marsan) is offered an unconventional healing opportunity. Daryll (Pooch Hall) struggles to find his place within the tight knit group, as Bridget (Kerris Dorsey) and Smitty (Graham Rogers) attempt to face the reality of their failing marriage. The series is executive produced by David Hollander, Mark Gordon, Bryan Zuriff and Lou Fusaro.
