Showtime‘s linear network is set to be rebranded on January 8, 2024 after four decades under the current moniker. According to Variety, the network will be renamed to Paramount+ with Showtime. Paramount Global had announced the rebrand earlier this year. The move would combine the originally separate platforms with Showtime originally being a six dollar bundle with Paramount+.

However, those who have already been paying the Paramount+ and Showtime bundle will have full access to in the rebranded application. Paramount+ With Showtime has been introduced as the ad-free streaming package this summer with plans to remove the Showtime streaming app at the end of 2023. A press release from Paramount Global called the rebrand “the first of its kind multiplatform brand that integrates streaming and linear content.” The company also announced a new promotional campaign to raise awareness of the merger to their subscribers.
Showtime originals are expected to be on schedule and available with the rebranding having no influence on the content. Fellow Travelers, The Chi, The Curse, Yellowjackets and Your Honor are all expected to on the rebranded app. Series premieres of The Woman in the Wall, A Gentleman in Moscow and George Clooney’s much anticipated The Department are expected to debut on the rebranded network. On the inverse, Showtime subscribers will get access to new Paramount+ original series Sexy Beast, the upcoming second season of video game adaptation Halo which will debut on the opening day of the rebrand. Showtime subscribers will also get older Paramount+ titles such as Mayor of Kingstown, Star Trek: Discovery and Wolf Pack. According to a previous mxdwn post, three Showtime originals have been cancelled in wake of the merger, Three Women, American Gigolo, and Let the Right One In.
Information on cost and other bundles available have yet to be released.
