The long-running Showtime dramedy series Shameless will premiere its eleventh and final season on December 6 at 9 PM EST, according to Deadline. The final season will consist of twelve hour-long episodes, bringing the series total episode count to 134. The series is adapted by John Wells (ER, American Woman) from Paul Abbott’s (Coronation Street) British series under the same name. The dramedy series is executive produced by the likes of Joe Lawson (Modern Family, BoJack Horseman), Iain MacDonald (Preacher, Episodes), Nancy M. Pimental (South Park, The Mick), Michael Hissrich (The West Wing, ER), Wells, and many more.
Shameless began production for its eleventh season on September 8 in accordance with COVID-19 protocols. Wells stated that COVID-19 will be included in the storylines of the final season. “It’s impossible to do a satirical comedy about the working poor without addressing what happened and what is going to happen to that community,” said Wells via The Hollywood Reporter.
The final season will feature Jeremy Allen White (After Everything, Movie 43) as Lip Gallagher, Ethan Cutkosky (The Unborn) as Carl Gallagher, Shanola Hampton (Miami Medical) as Veronica, Steve Howey (Reba) as Kevin, Cameron Monaghan (Gotham) as Ian Gallagher, Noel Fisher (The Riches, Hatfields & McCoys) as Mickey, Christian Isaiah (21 Bridges) as Liam Gallagher, Kate Miner (Necessary Roughness) as Tami, Emma Kenney (The Conners) as Deb Gallagher, and William H. Macy (Fargo) as the alcoholic patriarch of the Gallagher family in Frank.
