Betty Gilbin (The Hunt) has been cast in the upcoming Showtime drama series, Three Women, according to Variety. Previously announced cast members Shailene Woodley (Big Little Lies) and DeWanda Wise (She’s Gotta Have It) will star alongside Gilbin in the drama based on the book of the same name by Lisa Taddeo (Animal).
The series centers around three women struggling with female desire. Sloane, played by Wise, is a successful entrepreneur in a committed open marriage until two new strangers enter the picture and threaten their future; Maggie is a student who faces the consequences after accusing her married English teacher of having an inappropriate relationship; Lina, played by Gilpin, serves as an Indiana housewife who initiates an intense affair following a decade spent in a passionless marriage; Gia, played by Woodley, persuades each woman to tell their stories – changing each of their perceptions of love forever.
An Emmy-nominated actress, Gilpin is known for her roles in the Netflix dramedy, Glow, as well as her roles in films such as The Hunt, The Tomorrow War, and Nurse Jackie. She will also soon appear in the Starz Watergate drama entitled Gaslit and the AppleTV+ series, Roar.
