After sketch and spoof comedy legend Mel Brooks (Toy Story 3, Life of Brian, Young Frankenstein) released his long awaited sequel to History of the World Part I aptly titled History of the World Part II, ScreenRant reports, showrunner David Stassen (Central Intelligence, The Oath, Blockers) teased that another season might added to their repertoire on Hulu which will obviously be given the title History of the World Part III.
According to ScreenRant, several members of the cast discussed their positive experiences with the program. Once it was Stassen’s time to answer some questions, he addressed the possibility of part three saying, “I think everyone that I know of is on board and would love another crack at some historical figures and eras.”
History of the World Part II released its first episode on March 6th, 2023 and has an incredible number of all-star character roles and guest stars that would put Dom DeLuise (Cannonball Run, Fatso, Silence of the Hams), one of the main title stars of History of the World Part I, to shame.
The title stars include Brooks, Wanda Sykes (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Evan Almighty, Bad Moms), Nick Kroll (Big Mouth, Don’t Worry Darling, Community), and Ike Barinholtz (The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, The Mindy Project, Neighbors) with A-List guest stars Jack Black (School of Rock, Kung-Fu Panda, Jumanji: Return to the Jungle), Taika Waititi (JoJo Rabbit, Thor: Love & Thunder, What We Do in the Shadows), Seth Rogen (Pineapple Express, The Interview, Pam & Tommy), and Danny Devito (Matilda, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest).
With religious and historical characters spanning from the early ages of the Bible to the geopolitical conflicts with the USSR, Brook’s first streaming show was a giant success. The series managed to bring in old fans with a familiar format, being a satisfying sequel 41 years after its first iteration’s release. It also appealed to younger audience with newer familiar facies but with the same satirical attitude.
After breaking an extremely impressive precedent by reviving a piece of media that should have been dead and buried in the 80’s, skies the limit for Brook’s, making History of the World Part III a plausible reality.
