Greg Walker (Smallville, Without a Trace), Titans showrunner, deliberates on whether or not the appearance of Superman will be introduced in the DC TV series. While the infamous Lex Luthor, played by Titus Welliver (Gone Baby Gone, Argo), is being brought into the story and the Titans universe, the Man of Steel has yet to enter this DC series, according to ScreenRant.
Amidst the references to Superman and the brief look at the world’s perception of the icon of DC through a statue, Superman has yet to make an appearance on any other ongoing DC TV show.
According to an interview held between ScreenRant and Walker, one of the topics communicated with the Titans executive producer was whether the show would ever have the opportunity to introduce Superman regarding Superboy’s storyline before the DC show ends.
Well, we would love it, and I think that’s a story, that our show often that deals with [which is] fathers and sons. It feels like it would be a huge get to be able to do, and we could really do a lot with it if we got it. For now, we’re letting the DC Universe settle the way that it’s settling. We have hints of Superman, and there’ll be more; this is not the only one. So stay tuned. But it’s something that we would love, and hopefully, one day, we’ll come to realize on Titans.
The DC show’s synopsis indicates that the gang will make a stop at Metropolis along their journey, alluding that Lex Luthor and other recognizable faces from the big city will play a significant role in the season. Prop images were released by Murphy’s Universe at this year’s New York Comic Con in October and one of them was Clark Kent’s glasses and a note that indicated that the prop originates from season four of Titans.
The appearance of the Man of Steel in the fourth season of Titans could potentially serve as great news for Superboy aka Connor Kent. According to The Direct, the DC hero’s debut in this series will come at a good time, because Connor had symbolic eruptions in the third season.
Walker also spoke previously on the topic of possibly introducing a crossover featuring Stargirl, the main character portrayed by Brec Bassinger (The Goldbergs, Bella and the Bulldogs). Stargirl‘s most recent season, unfortunately, is its last.
Season four of Titans premiered on November 3, 2022, with the first two episodes. New episodes will follow weekly on Thursdays, ending on December 1, 2022. Titans can be found only on HBO Max.
