Shelley Conn (The Deceived, How Do You Know, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) has been added to the cast of the third season of the smash-thriller series Wisting, Deadline exclusively reports. The Bridgerton alum will portray a character that is still unknown to the press and audience in the second part of the show’s second season. Beta has also signed some deals with the 26-parter, which airs on Germany’s ARD. In other countries, Wisting’s rights were shared with Warner Bros. Discovery in Latin America for Max, SBS Australia, Antenna Greece, AMC Portugal, and AMC Spain.
According to Deadline, the first half of the season will be released on Viaplay at the end of this month, and the second part of the season, which stars Conn, will be premiering in Scandinavia in late 2024. The new season’s plotline is focused on a young boy who mysteriously disappears from the hotel where he was staying with his family and, at the same time, an employee from that same hotel is murdered in cold blood. The team of William Wisting has to find the boy and resolve this murder case before the time runs out, as a compromising letter arrives in the hands of the detective.
Conn was previously Lady Mary Sharma on the second season of Netflix’s Bridgerton, specifically the mother of the two characters Edwina and Kate Sharma, according to Deadline. In 2023, she starred in Prime Video’s Generation V as Dean Indira Shetty and in Good Omens Two as Beelzebub. In 2020, she was a regular in the series Liar as DI Vanessa Harmon. From 2008 through 2010, she starred as the character of Jessica in the hit British series Mistresses. As for movies, her most notable role is in Love Sarah as the character of Isabella.
According to Deadline, Beta Film has other series competing for the top spot at Series Mania, including 30 Days of Lust, Herrhausen – The Banker and The Bomb, Homejacking, and Soviet Jeans.
The first two seasons of Wisting are available for streaming on AMC+ and for rent on Prime Video.
