According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sharon Stone (Basic Instinct, Casino) has officially joined the cast of HBO’s Euphoria for its highly anticipated third season. The InSneider first broke the news of her involvement earlier this month, and it has now been confirmed that the acclaimed actress will star in the upcoming installment of this hit series.
Expressing her excitement, Stone stated, “There is little more exciting than going to work with this team of thrilling talent. From the genius of Sam Levinson to the raw sophistication of this profoundly moving cast and tight crew. I am honored to be Euphoric.”
Specifics about Stone’s character remain to be seen, but she will be joining a star-studded ensemble that includes Zendaya (Challengers, Dune: Part Two), Hunter Schafer (Cuckoo, Kinds of Kindness), Sydney Sweeney (Anyone But You, The White Lotus), Jacob Elordi (Priscilla, Saltburn) and the recently Oscar-nominated Colman Domingo (Sing Sing, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man). A Hollywood veteran, Stone is best known for playing femme fatale-type figures in famous ’90s films such as Total Recall, Casino and Basic Instinct. She will star alongside Bob Odenkirk in Universal’s sequel to the hit action blockbuster Nobody later this summer.
HBO recently announced that production on Euphoria’s third season has begun after an almost three-year-long break. Alongside Stone, two brand new cast members, Toby Wallace (The Bikeriders, Pistol) and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (The Union, The Fix) have been confirmed as series regulars. Additionally, Kadeem Hardison (A Different World, Moonhaven), former NFL player Marshawn Lynch (Love Hurts, Bottoms) and Grammy-winning artist Rosalia (Pain and Glory, Los Ángeles) will take on sizable guest appearance.
The upcoming season of Euphoria will feature a large time skip, bringing the previously high school-age characters beyond their younger years. Though an exact release has yet to be announced, the new season will likely debut sometime next year.
