Emmy winner Sharon Gless will be a series regular in the half-hour project from Chris Moynihan.
Sharon Gless, the star from The Burn Notice and Cagney & Lacey will star in the multicamera comedy pilot from ABC, titled Saint Francis. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project focuses on a no-nonsense Long Island family cop (and family man) who butts heads with the modern liberal world when his 29-year-old sister, Heather (Spencer Grammer) gets pregnant out of wedlock.
Gless will play Francis’ the “pain-in-the-butt” Irish-Catholic mother, Janice, who has taken up permanent residence in Francis’ basement. When she finds out that Heather is pregnant, she rushes off to her parish priest who will confirm that Janice’s daughter is going straight to hell.
Moynihan will write and executive produce the comedy alongside Ron West and Kelly Kulchak. Paget Brewster,Henry Simmons, Spencer Grammer and Jeremy Luke also star in the series.
Sharon Gless repped by Domain manager Perry Zimel and Katz Golden Rosenman. just finished playing in the seven-season USA spy drama titled Burn Notice, which ended its run last year. Her credits include Queer as Folk, Nip/Tuck, The Trials of Rosie O’Neill and BBC’s The State Within.
