Shar Jackson (Moesha) is slated to join the cast of the Showtime series Shameless as a recurring role for the remainder of its 11th and final season, according to Deadline. The series was previously announced to be ending with its current season, airing on Showtime.
Starring William H. Macy (Fargo), Emmy Rossum (The Phantom of the Opera), Cameron Monaghan (Gotham), Jeremy Allen White (The Rental), Emma Kenney (The Conners), Ethan Cutkosky (The Unborn), Steve Howey (Reba), Shanola Hampton (Things Never Said), and Noel Fisher (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Shameless follows the trials and tribulations of the dysfunctional Gallagher family, led by their eldest sister Fiona (Rossum) and neglected by alcoholic father Frank (Macy). The final season of the dramedy has implemented the COVID-19 pandemic as well as gentrification on the South Side of Chicago into its storyline.
Jackson is most well-known for her role as Niecy on the 90’s sitcom Moesha, alongside her roles in Love and Basketball, Good Burger, and The Parkers. In her Shameless debut, she is slated to play the role of Constance, Veronica’s (Hampton), mid-40 year-old cousin who resides in Louisville.
