Showtime has recently ordered a six-episode Shameless retrospective series in which a look back at characters’ journeys throughout the show’s 11 seasons will be featured, Variety reports. It will be entitled Shameless Hall of Shame.
According to Variety, “the series will feature original scenes featuring characters from the beloved show juxtaposed with a look back at scenes from previous seasons to highlight characters’ journeys.” Premiering on December 27 at 9 pm. ET, the first episode of Shameless Hall of Shame will feature Ian, played by Cameron Monaghan (Click) and Mickey, played by Noel Fisher (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), as they look back at their unique relationship, from a simple closeted fling to a complex marriage.
Executive producer John Wells (The Company Men) said in a statement that “This 11-year journey with the Gallagher family has been a total pleasure for us from the beginning and we’re excited to share a look back at the many trials, tribulations, and laughs of those 11 seasons,” via Variety. The show’s eleventh season premiered in early December and is slated to be its final season.
The series follows the Gallagher siblings as they live with a drunken and absent father named Frank, played by William H. Macy (Fargo), as they’re raised by their eldest sister, Fiona, played by Emmy Rossum (The Phantom of the Opera). It features the siblings, with the oldest being in her 20s and the youngest being an infant, as they manage to deal with the absence of their parents and the advantages and disadvantages of growing up on the South Side of Chicago.
Alongside Macy and Rossum, the series stars Jeremy Allen White (The Rental), Shanola Hampton (Things Never Said), Emma Kenney (The Conners), and Ethan Cutkosky (The Unborn). Shameless still maintains its spot as one of Showtime’s most watched shows, with season ten averaging 5.7 million viewers across all platforms.
