Shameless, which returned January 11 will be renewed for a sixth season by Showtime.
At the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour the president of Showtime, David Nevins, announced that there would be a sixth season of dramedy Shameless starring William H. Macy.
The series, created by John Wells for Warner Brothers earned series highs last year averaging more than 5.7 million viewers. The love for Shameless was reflected already this award season, with William H. Macy receiving nominations for the Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild awards.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, production on the 12 episodes of season six will begin later this year and it will run in 2015.
