

While fans await on the release of the final volume for Netflix’s popular series, Stranger Things, which is scheduled to premiere on New Year’s Eve around 5:00 p.m. PT,the franchise’s first spin-off — a live-stage play dubbed Stranger Things: The First Shadow — is breaking records. According to Screenrant, the play has already garnered around 2.5 million dollars around the week from December 23 to 28, and explores the origins behind Henry Creel aka Vecna, played by Jamie Campbell Bower (Witchboard, Camelot).
Stated by Screenrant, the play also displays on how the Upside Down first connected to the town of Hawkins due to an experiment by the government, further connecting to the events occurring within the series.
Reported by Screenrant, the play also showcases young versions of the parents of the cast which includes James Hopper, played by Burke Swanson (Reset, Harlem), Joyce Maldonado, played by Alison Jaye (Shameless, High Potential), who will become Joyce Byers and Karen Childress, played by Dora Dolphin (Gylt, Stillwater), who will later be Karen Wheeler. Last week, the Marquis Theatre in New York City hosted nine outstanding performances that truly captivated audiences.
