Seven Actors Joining Peacock’s ‘The Office’ Sequel Series

According to Deadline, Peacock’s The Office follow-up series is adding Allan Havey (Night After Night with Allan Havey, National Lampoon’s Adam & Eve), Duane R. Shepard Sr. (Batman: Arkham City, No Way to Live), Molly Ephraim (A League of Their Own, Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones), Mo Welch (Comedy Central’s Colossal Clusterfest, Life in Pieces), Nate Jackson (Love & Brotherhood Sequel, Curb Your Enthusiasm), Nancy Lenehan (Eddie’s Million Dollar Cook-Off, Catch Me If You Can) and Tracy Letts (August: Osage County, Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty) to the cast.

The show is being created and executive produced by Michael Koman (How to with John Wilson, The Jack and Triumph Show) and Greg Daniels (King of the Hill, My Mom, Your Dad). They will be joining Alex Edelman (Alex Edelman: Just for Us, Susan Calman’s Fringe Benefits), Chelsea Freí (The Time Traveler’s Wife, While You Were Breeding), Domhnall Gleeson (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker), Eric Ranhill (The Bear, Let’s Start A Cult), Gbemisola Ikumelo (A League of Your Own, The Last Tree), Ramona Young (Never Have I Ever, The Real O’Neals), Sabrina Impacciatore (7 Women and Murder, The White Lotus) and Tim Key (The Witchfinder, No More Jockeys).

The synopsis of the show is as follows: “The documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch is searching for a new subject when they discover a dying historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it with volunteer reporters.”

Deadline article revealed in January that the project was secret and in early development. In March, it was revealed that Koman had joined Daniels as a co-creator. A month later, they selected their first batch of stars, Impacciatore and Gleeson.

Welch is a writer and actor for The Office sequel series. The executive producers are Banijay Americans, formally known as Reveille, Ben Silverman (Planet of the Apps, Reviews on the Run), Howard Klein (Late Night, Jessica Jones), Ricky Gervais (The Invention of Lying, David Brent: Life on the Road) and Stephen Merchant (Table 19, Jojo Rabbit), who also helped helm the original NBC British version. The Universal Studio Group division, Universal Television, is the studio.
