According to Variety, seven stars have signed onto the all-new comedy series by Apple TV+ entitled The Studio by Seth Rogen (Pineapple Express). The project, which hails from Lionsgate Television and Rogen’s company, Point Grey Pictures, will host several series regulars alongside Rogen, including Ike Barinholtz (The Mindy Project), Catherine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek), Chase Sui Wonders (Bodies, Bodies, Bodies) and Kathryn Hahn (Wandavision).
The series will also feature additional stars who are set to play recurring roles, such as Dewayne Perkins (The Upshaws), Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) and Keyla Monterroso Mejia (Curb Your Enthusiasm).
Variety notes that The Studio’s official logline reads, “A legacy Hollywood movie studio trying to survive in a world where it is increasingly difficult for art and commerce to live together.” The Studio, which was previously ordered to series back in November of 2022, is now in production.
As per Variety, Cranston is represented by Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole and CAA, and O’Hara is represented by Brillstein Entertainment Partners and CAA. Wonders is represented by Shelter PR, Sloane Offer, LLP, Weber & Dern and UTA. Perkins is represented by Schreck Rose Dapello Adams Berlin & Dunham LLP, CAA, and Artists First. Hahn is represented by Schreck Rose Dapello, Gersh and Lighthouse Management & Media. Mejia is represented by Jackoway Austen Tyerman, UTA and MGMT Entertainment, and Barinholtz is represented by Artists First, Jared Levine from Morris Yorn Barnes Levine Krintzman Morris Yorn Barnes Levine Krintzman Rubenstein Kohner & Gellman and UTA.
Evan Goldberg (This Is the End) and Rogen direct, executive produce, and write the show under Rogen’s Point Gray Productions banner, along with Josh Fagen (Good Boys), James Weaver (Neighbors), and Alex McAtee (Long Shot). The Studio was made by Alex Gregory (White House Plumbers) and Peter Huyck (Veep), with Rogen, Frida Perez (Good Boys) and Goldberg. The series is home to Lionsgate Television.
