The creeping and dark trailer for season two of Apple’s horror series Servant was released on Thursday. Announcing the premiere date, the new season will be dropping on Apple TV+ on January 15, 2021, via Indiewire.
Servant was created by Tony Basgallop (Inside Men) and he serves as the series’ showrunner as well as an executive producer alongside M. Night Shyamalan (Split). A well known film director, Shyamalan directed blockbusters such as The Sixth Sense, Split and Glass. Servant marks his second venture into television, his first being the FOX mystery series Wayward Pines. Directing two episodes of Servant’s first season, he delves deep into darkness, serving up a plate of horror and crime.
Shyamalan took to Twitter on Thursday promoting the just released trailer for season two. He praised everyone who took part in working on the show. See his tweet below:

Apple released an official synopsis for season two which was then picked up by Indiewire. The sophomore season is described as: “Following its suspenseful season one finale, the second season of the thriller takes a supernatural turn. As Leanne returns to the brownstone and her true nature is revealed, a darker future for all lies ahead.” The first season left off on a final, terrifying twist.
Servant details a seemingly normal suburban couple Dorothy and Sean, but it turns out to be all smoke and mirrors. After the couple loses their newborn baby, Dorothy replaces him with a doll. The doll is treated like a real life baby boy, and the couple hires a sinister and creepy nanny named Leanne to take care of him. By letting a stranger into their house, disturbing things begin to happen.
Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under) portrays the grieving mother Dorothy and Toby Kebbell (Black Mirror) portrays her husband Sean. The cast also features Rupert Grint (Harry Potter) as Dorothy’s brother and Nell Tiger Free (Game of Thrones) as the new nanny.
Along with Basgallop and Shyamalan, the series is executive produced by Ashwin Rajan (Glass), Taylor Latham (Dr. Death), Patrick Markey (Ozark) Jason Blumenthal (The Pursuit of Happyness), Todd Black (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom), and Steve Tisch (Forrest Gump). Season two will consist of ten episodes, with the first one premiering on Friday, January 15 and a new episode following every week on Friday.
