Netflix’s Lost in Space production designer Frank Walsh (Inception) will be working on Marvel Studios’ upcoming series, Secret Invasion, via The Ronin. The news comes as the cast and crew gear up for production in the next coming weeks.
Secret Invasion will adapt the famous Marvel Comics crossover storyline from 2008. The story will follow a set of Skrulls, a recurring alien race in the Marvel Cinematic Universe first seen in Captain Marvel, infiltrating all aspects of life on Earth.
Samuel L. Jackson (The Avengers) and Ben Mendelsohn (Captain Marvel) will reprise their roles as Nick Fury and Talos, respectively. Kingsley Ben-Adir (One Night in Miami…), Olivia Colman (The Crown), Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Killian Scott (Dublin Murders), and Christopher McDonald (Happy Gilmore) will co-star.
Walsh has previously worked on Carnival Row, Lost in Space, and Jupiter’s Legacy. He was also an art director on projects such as High-Rise, Inception, Game of Thrones, The Mummy, Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and Luc Besson’s Lockout.
The Ronin also reported that the series tapped Sylvaine Dufaux (Solo: A Star Wars Story) as the cinematographer. The site revealed that the series is also expected to shoot sequences in Ireland.
Secret Invasion is speculated to be in connection to the upcoming Captain Marvel sequel, The Marvels. Jackson had confirmed on social media that he shot scenes for the film as Nick Fury.
Secret Invasion will stream sometime in 2022 exclusively on Disney+.
