Critic Richard Ferguson of The Australian reviewed on Rotten Tomatoes, saying the overall show “is the epitome of the Marvel TV and film franchise. Even an armed chase through the streets of Moscow seems stunted, fake and without life.”
The sixth episode of season one of Secret Invasion marked the series finale. The episode followed Nick Fury as he “learns of a secret invasion of Earth by a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls; Fury joins his allies, and together they race against time to thwart an imminent Skrull invasion and save humanity.”
Critic Fletcher Peters of The Daily Beast reviewed the series on Rotten Tomatoes saying, “Although the Nick Fury-focused (Samuel L. Jackson) drama seems to think it went out with a bang, the series finale opts for a whimpering, wheezing final fight and boring repetition.” Another critic, Bradley Russell from Total Film remarked that, “Secret Invasion signs off in disappointing style. A seed of a compelling story has been sown, but it can’t mask what has been, by and large, one of the weakest MCU series in quite some time.”
