Disney and Lucasfilms excites fans with the release of another trailer for the second season of Andor, a Star Wars universe series. According to mxdwn, the season will follow the adventure of Cassian, played by Diego Luna (Narcos: Mexico, The Book of Life). The series takes place five years before the events in Rogue One, serving as a prequel to the film.
Mxdwn states that Cassian is a retired thief who now serves as a rebel leader, and travels the galaxy to fight for his cause. The second season begins where the first one ended, with Cassian trying to recruit Stellan Skargård (Good Will Hunting, Dune) to join the rebellion, and him agreeing.
The teaser trailer features segments from the newest season, behind the scene clips and insight from creator, writer and executive producer Tony Gilroy (The Bourne Legacy, Michael Clayton). Actress Adria Arjona (Hit Man, Blink Twice), who plays Bix Caleen, also shares her perspective on the show.
“It’s human, it’s incredibly truthful, and it just happens to be in a galaxy far far away,” Arjona states.
Mxdwn reports that the series will be the most expensive addition to the Star Wars repertoire , costing Disney and Lucasfilm’s over 645 million for the production of both seasons. This suprasses the cost of The Rise of Skywalker, which previously held the most expensive production slot in the franchise.
The series is advertised as a political thriller, and stars Faye Marsay (Ten Pound Poems, Bancroft) as Vel Sartha, Skarsgård as Luthen Rael, Denise Gough (Monday, The Other Lamb) as Dedra Meero, Andy Serkis (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Lord of the Rings franchise) as Kino Loy, Fiona Shaw (Bad Sisters, Killing Eve) as Maarva Andor, Alex Lawther (Departure, Old Boys) as Karis Nemik, Elizabeth Dulau (Maternal) as Kleya Marki, Kyle Soller (The Book of Boba Fett, Bodies) as Syril Karn, Ben Mendelsohn (Ready Player One, Rogue One) as Orson Krennic and others.
