Season two of HBO’s popular comedy-drama anthology series The White Lotus will premiere in October, according to Variety. A specific date for the premiere of the show’s second season is currently unclear, however.
Season two of The White Lotus, which will officially be called The White Lotus: Sicily as the upcoming season was filmed in Sicily, Italy, will only feature one returning series regular, Jennifer Coolidge (2 Broke Girls). Coolidge will reprise her role as Tanya McQuoid while F. Murray Abraham (The Grand Budapest Hotel), Adam DiMarco (The Order), Tom Hollander (Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest), Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos), Aubrey Plaza (Parks And Recreation), Haley Lu Richardson (The Edge Of Seventeen), Theo James (The Divergent Series: Insurgent), Meghann Fahy (The Bold Type), Will Sharpe (The Electrical Life Of Louis Wain), and Leo Woodall (Cherry) will all be making their debuts on the show. Mike White (School Of Rock), the creator of the show, will return as writer and director, per Variety.
The first season anthology series was extremely well-received as the show has earned 20 nominations for the upcoming 2022 Emmy Awards. The show’s nominations included Outstanding Writing For A Limited Or Anthology Series Or Movie, Outstanding Directing For A Limited Or Anthology Series or Movie, Outstanding Casting For A Limited Or Anthology Series or Movie, and Outstanding Limited Or Anthology Series.
On top of those nominations, Coolidge, Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights), Alexandra Daddario (Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief), Natasha Rothwell (Sonic The Hedgehog 2), and Sydney Sweeney (The Handmaid’s Tail) all received nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress For A Limited Or Anthology Series or Movie for The White Lotus. Murray Bartlett (Tales Of The City), Jake Lacy (Johnny English Strikes Again), and Steve Zahn (Diary Of A Wimpy Kid) were all nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor For A Limited Or Anthology Series or Movie for the show as well.
