According to Deadline, season two of The Bear has become the most-watched premiere of an FX series on Hulu. The entirety of the second season of the series was released on the streamer on June 22.
Season two has had a 70% increase of total hours streamed over season one after the first four days of viewing. Season one was the most-watched single season of a comedy series in FX history and season two is now likely to break that record.
The Bear was created by Christopher Storer (Eighth Grade, The Rental). It is produced by Tyson Bidner (A Serious Man, The Kindness of Strangers) and FX Productions. Executive producers include Storer, Matty Matheson (Dead Set on Life, It’s Suppertime!), Joanna Calo (BoJack Horseman, Hacks), Josh Senior (Some Good News, Inside), and Hiro Murai (Three Slaps, Guava Island).
The series follows Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto, a young chef in the fine dining world who goes home to Chicago to run The Original Beef of Chicagoland, his family’s sandwich shop, after a tragic death in his family. Carmy has to learn to balance his strong-willed kitchen staff, his strained family relationships, and the realities of owning a small business.
In the second season, the crew works to transform the rundown sandwich joint. The crew transforms in their own ways and are forced to confront their pasts and decide who they want to be in the future, as the restaurant is stripped down to its bones.
The Bear stars Jeremy Allen White (Shameless, Homecoming), Ayo Edebiri (Thunderbolts, Big Mouth), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Punisher, Girls), Abby Elliott (Odd Mom Out, Saturday Night Live), Matheson, Lionel Boyce (Loiter Squad, The Jellie’s!), Molly Ringwald (Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club), Molly Gordon (Booksmart, Good Boys), Liza Colón-Zayas (In Treatment, David Makes Man), and Joel McHale (Community, Animal Control).
Season one of The Bear debuted on Hulu June 23, 2022.
