As per The Hollywood Reporter, Starz‘s biggest audience to date tuned into the third season premiere of BMF. Over the course of its premiere weekend, the Starz series attracts over five million viewers. On March 1st, the third installment was made available.
Over the course of its opening weekend, the drama’s season three debut attracted 5.1 million cross-platform viewers. With a million more viewers than the season two premiere in January 2023, that represents the best performance for the show to date and a nearly 25% increase from season to season.
The Hollywood Reporter claims that, as is typically the case with high-end cable programs, the majority of viewers watched BMF‘s on-air premiere, which accounted for only roughly 5% of the three-day total with an average of just 250,000 viewers. Replays and streaming are included in the 5.1 million total. Although Starz does not offer precise streaming statistics, it is likely that the majority of the 4.85 million viewers that remain came from streaming.
Following Starz’s decision to renew Lionsgate Television and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s (Get Rich Or Die Tryin, Before I Self Destruct) G-Unit Film and Television for a fourth season, BMF had a successful premiere weekend.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Black Mafia Family, one of the most powerful crime families in the nation in the 1980s, was founded in Detroit by Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory, played by Demetrius Flenory Jr. (Euphoria, Taurus) and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory played by Da’Vinchi (Jessica Jones, The Way Back). Their story is told in BMF. In season three, the brothers expand their business to Atlanta in the 1990s. Russell Hornsby (The Hate U Give, Fences), Michole Briana White (Malignant, Courage Under Fire), Sydney Mitchell (The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey, First Wives Club), La La Anthony (Power, The New Edition Story), Kelly Hu (The Tournament, East New York), and Laila D. Pruitt (Secret Headquarters, Everything’s Gonna Be Okay) are among the other stars.
Along with Anthony Wilson (The Last Carnival), Anne Clements (StartUp, Fantasy Island), showrunner Heather Zuhlke (Power, Tell Me A Story), and series creator Randy Huggins (Criminal Minds, Prime Suspect), Jackson executive produces.
