Just today, Warner Bros. Television group CEO Channing Dungey has announced via Deadline that Warner Bros. Discovery will be making The Pitt available for everyone, as the series will be joining the TNT platform. The first season plans to drop just ahead of its season two premiere on HBO Max.
Following Deadline‘s article, the star of the series Noah Wyle (The World Made Straight, Crooked Hearts) joined the presentation that took place today to discuss the origins of the new drama with executive producers John Wells (Smith, Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes) and R. Scott Gemmill (Women’s Murder Club, NCIS: Los Angeles).
“When we set out, our goal with The Pitt was to make a show that was not just about medical cases, but about the people behind them, the dedicated folks who sacrificed daily in service of others inside of a fraying system that currently feels like it’s teetering on the edge,” Wyle said, speaking with the advertisers via Deadline‘s report. “The aim was to lead into those relatable life and death moments, the ones that make us root for everyone on the show, because they all feel like real people that we know and real crises with real needs and the outcome.”
Created by Gemmill, The Pitt follows the turbulent daily lives of healthcare professionals in a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania hospital. Alongside Wyle, who stars in the lead role as Dr. Michael Robinavitch, the series has also cast Taylor Dearden (Heartthrob, American Vandal), Isa Briones (Takers, Star Trek: Picard), Shawn Hatosy (Street Kings 2: Motor City, Nobel Son), Patrick Ball (Cheerleader, Horse Camp), Fiona Dourif (The Blacklist, The Shuroo Process), Tracy Ifeachor (Legends of Tomorrow, Quantico) and several other notable actors and actresses.
Season two of The Pitt has already planned for its debut sometime in 2026, in which it will focus on the medical crew and a fifteen hour shift that will take place on the fourth of July holiday.
