According to The Hollywood Reporter, Peacock dropped a trailer earlier today for season five of Law & Order: Organized Crime that left fans raving. The spinoff series has had four successful seasons as the show highlights violent crimes in New York City. With the return of many beloved characters, the show quickly became a fan favorite.
The trailer was nothing short of action-packed. The clip opens with the beloved character Elliot Stabler, played by Christopher Meloni (Law & Order: SVU, Happy!), making a confession to a priest. He states, “Bless me Father for I have sinned, I promised people I’d save them, but I have not been keeping my word, but I’m going to do everything I can to stop it.” This then launches the trailer into the premise of the season where we see a few familiar faces. Stabler must go undercover to investigate a series of murders. Fans speculate if his character will end up going too far as the ending of the trailer sees Stabler getting into a car crash. The trailer concludes with Stabler in a hospital bed and his mother making the statement, “Do not make me have to bury you.” Check out the trailer below.
In a Hollywood Reporter article, they shared the official logline for season five: “Season five explores the dangerous worlds of cross-border smuggling, high-tech domestic terrorism and a crime family intent on repaying Stabler for the injury he did them in Rome. As his worlds collide, Stabler will put everything on the line to protect the vulnerable and fight for justice.”
While Meloni will be returning for season five, The Hollywood Reporter details we’ll also see Danielle Mone Truitt (The Princess and the Frog) reprising her character Sergeant Ayanna Bell. Truitt will be lead detective in cases they investigate this season.
Season five of Law & Order: Organized Crime premieres on Peacock on April 17th.
