From the Variety, two actors, Ben Platt (The Politician, The Beauty) and Russell Tovey (Looking, Plainclothes), will be placed in the cast for the fifth season of the series HBO’s Industry (2020).
Platt plays Matt Crenshaw, a capitalist who also works at a wellness-tech company as a backer. Platt is known mostly for his Broadway roles, including Dear Evan Hansen and The Book of Mormon, so this change of pace for a workplace drama is a surprise. Tovey plays Declan P. Davis, a deputy who works under the politician Nikesh Shah played by Bally Gill (Slow Horses).
The show also has additional cast members added to the season, including Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride, Lady Jane), Dianna Agron (Heroes, Glee), Sam Riley (Control, Rebecca), Jessica Brown Findlay (Silo, Harlots), Luke Manley (Marty Supreme, No Need to Worry), Bally Gill, Eduard Poliakov (On Drive), and Zosia Mamet (Girls, The Flight Attendant).
The cast also includes: Myha’la (Modern Love, Premature), Marisa Abela (Man in a Box), Kit Harrington (Game of Thrones), Ken Leung (Project Hail Mary, Lost), Max Minghella (The Handmaid’s Tale, Babylon), Miriam Petche (The Worst Witch, Sweetpea), Sagar Radia (Unicorns), Toheeb Jimoh (Ted Lasso, The Power), Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things), Amy James-Kelly (Everyone Else Burns), Roger Barclay (The Undertaker, Birds of Paradise), Andrew Havill (Downton Abbey, The King), Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Mad Men), Kal Penn (Designated Survivor), Jack Farthing (Poldark, The Serial Killer’s Wife), Stephen Campbell Moore (The Bank Job, Season of the Witch), Claire Forlani (NCIS: Los Angeles, Camelot), and Edward Holcroft (The English Game).
Industry was directed by Mickey Down (You, Me and the Apocalypse), Konrad Kay (Gregor), Michelle Savill (Sex Education), and Luke Snellin (Mixtape) for the four seasons that aired under the productions. It has been previously announced that the show will end on its fifth season. It will continue off from the last season with bigger stakes for Pierpoint & Co.
