Season 8 of ‘Foyle’s War’ Will Launch in 2015

According to Deadline, Foyle’s War will have an eighth season.

The show, written by Anthony Horowitz, will have another three-episode season starring Michael Kitchen and Honeysuckle Weeks.

The filming of the episodes produced by Acorn Production, ITV and Eleventh Hour Films is scheduled to begin in January. There is no information about PBS and if they will pick up the new season.

Foyle’s War last aired on PBS in May 2010. Acorn bought the British franchise Foyle’s War from Greenlit Rights. In the original series, the action was set during WWII in Hastings on the south coast of England.

The new season will be about the American and German industrialists. In an interview with the Associated Press about the signing with the new war episodes, Kitchen said that “there was not one good reason not to. It’s the case that, as a younger man, I’d sworn never to become a TV detective and although signing up for the show at the very beginning was never an issue, I couldn’t shift a lingering guilt for letting the younger guy down. So it’s a fact that I had suggested fairly early on…”
