A confrontation multiple seasons in the making will finally come to fruition next season on The CW Network’s The Flash. After a series of close encounters, the titular hero will face the villain Godspeed, per Comic Book Report.
Godspeed, voiced by BD Wong (Jurrasic Park) and portrayed by Kindall Charters (Another Life), has been a part of the series since season 5. However, the character has a complicated history, as his physical self has as yet to grace the screens in these appearances. Instead, alternate future and drone versions of the character have been antagonists throughout season 5 and 6. While there is a real Godspeed controlling these alternate versions, he has not made an appearance in the show so far.
This will change in season 7, according to showrunner and executive producer Eric Wallace (Teen Wolf). While interviewing with TVLine, Wallace said “yes … that’s where we’re going,” in response to a question asking if the heroes will encounter the actual Godspeed.
Despite only having a brief appearance in season 5, Godspeed has been a major antagonist in season 6. Wong voices the character in his super villain disguise, while Charters plays the man behind the suit, a mysterious man named August Heart.
The Flash originally premiered on October 7th, 2014, and has run for six seasons since then for a total of 92 episodes. The series follows crime scene investigator Barry Allen, played by Grant Gustin (Glee), who becomes a super hero known as The Flash after being struck by lightning. The sixth season premiered in October of 2019 and ended in May 2020. The seventh season will begin airing in January 2021.
