Season Five Poster of ‘Dragon Prince’ Looms Impending Doom

According to ScreenRant, a new poster for the fifth season of Dragon Prince (second season of Dragon Prince: Mystery of Aaravos) shows a treacherous journey ahead of them in the open seas. The protagonists will be continuing their journey to meet the dragon lords and complete the map to Aaravos before their rivals revive the villain and the world’s fate is sealed.

The animated Netflix series was initially released on September 14, 2018 from the same company that created the Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise along with similar voice actors like Jack De Sena (100 Things to do Before High School, The Veil, Sam & Cat) who portrays the prince human mage in Dragon Prince, Callum, as well the boomeranging comic relief Sokka in the Avatar series.

The adventure-fantasy cartoon follows two princes Callum and Ezran in a mystical and magical land named Xadia. Deep in the catacombs of the human city lies a long lost dragon egg thought to be destroyed, causing extreme discourse from magical beings and humanity for several years prior to their birth. The princes along with a stealthy elf assassin turned friend, Rayla journey to the magical lands return the royal egg to its mother, the queen of the dragons. The group succeeds in their quest, but not without fighting and defeating dark magic user Viren, who returned in the second iteration after being influenced by the ancient evil power of Startouch Elf Aaravos.

The new poster showcases a massive tidal wave, on the verge of swallowing the ship likely carrying our main heroes/protagonist. Also shown is a lightning bolt striking the center of the screen and an aquatic dragon with beaming red eyes and massive horns submerged beneath the tidal wave.

Season four entitled “Book 4: Earth” follows the main characters a few years after the epic battle between Viren and the natural magic users. Ezran is crowned as king, while his older brother Callum is the high mage of the city practicing his wind spells and reading ancient tomes to help him progress in other forms of magics. Meanwhile, Viren is revived for a limited period of time by dark magic from his daughter Claudia, surpassing her father’s skills and taking up the cocooned familiar from Aaravos.

Season 5 entitled “Book 5: Ocean” will continue the journey to find the hidden pieces of the map to Aaravos, with Callum’s group racing against Claudia’s group. With looming relationship struggles on both sides likely to implode, the next season is probably setting up for a grand finale in season six. Book 5 of Dragon Prince: Mystery of Aaravos will be released sometime this summer on Netflix.
