Voltron: Legendary Defenders fans won’t have to wait long for season 5. The official Voltron Instagram page posted a teaser on the season 4 ending with a small print disclosure showing “All new episodes March 2” as reported by ComicBook.com.
Netflix and Dreamworks, creators of the reboot, have not disclosed how many episodes will be in this season. Seasons 1 and 2 had 13 episodes while season 3 had 7 and season 4 had 6. Hopefully they don’t continue the downward spiral and leave season 5 with only 5.
Voltron: Legendary Defenders revolves around the five Paladins of Voltron including Shiro, Lance, Pidge, Keith and Hunk. This Voltron Force helps battle Lord Zakron and the Gaira Empire.
The Voltron Force has met several challenges including the season 4 cliffhanger where they must decide whether to accept help from their former adversary, the exiled Prince Lotor. After battling him as the successor to his deceased father Lord Zakron, Witch Hagar resurrected Zakron who once again banished his son leading to his turncoat move of offering assistance to Voltron Force.
Changes have also taken place within the Voltron Force after leader Shiro disappeared following Zakron’s defeat. Placing Keith as the lead shifted everyone around including moving Princess Allura into the pilot seat of the Blue Lion. After Shiro’s return, he jumped back into the Black Lion while Keith moved on to learn more about his Gaira heritage.
Learn whether the Voltron Force accepts Lotor’s olive branch when Voltron: Legendary Defenders, season 5 premieres on March 2.
