Season 3 of ‘Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure’ Arriving on Disney Channel in October

Last Friday, Disney announced that its popular show Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure would be returning in October for a third season. The series has been nominated for Emmy Awards in the past, and seems to be aiming for more nominations in the future.

The third season of Tangled Adventure promises more drama and excitement for fans. The official Disney press release describes the plot of the upcoming season: “Rapunzel returns to the kingdom of Corona only to find that it has been taken over by an old enemy. Still reeling from Cassandra’s betrayal, Rapunzel must use her inner strength to save Corona and its people, including her parents, King Frederic and Queen Arianna.” The series features characters from the original movie Tangled, including Eugene, Pascal, and Maximus, as well as new characters created for the series such as Eugene’s best friend Lance.

Among Tangled Adventure’s achievements is two Daytime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Casting for an Animated Series or Special. One unique element of Tangled Adventure is that it features some of the same voice actors as the original film that inspired it. Mandy Moore, who now has prominent role on the NBC event series This Is Us, voices Rapunzel, and Zachary Levi, who starred in the DC film Shazam!, voices Eugene, formerly known as Flynn Rider. The series also features many other renowned voice actors, including Eden Espinosa of Broadway’s Wicked, James Monroe Iglehart of Broadway’s Aladdin, Paul F. Tompkins of Bob’s Burgers, and Jeremy Jordan of Supergirl. Disney has announced that several new voices will be joining the cast of Tangled Adventure for Season 3, including Sean Giambrone (The Goldbergs) as teen version of Eugene, and Tara Fitzgerald (Game of Thrones) as Zhan Tiri, an ancient threat to the kingdom. On the topic of awards, the music for Tangled Adventure is by Academy Award-winning Disney composer Alan Menken.

Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure will premiere with a one-hour special on Monday, October 7th at 1pm Eastern Time on Disney Channel and the DisneyNOW app. You can watch the series trailer here:
