According to Deadline, Ines Asserson (Harajuku, Heirs of the Night), Ruby Cruz (Bottoms, Willow) and Sean Kaufman (The Summer I Turned Pretty, Manifest) will join the cast of For All Mankind on Apple TV+ as series regulars. The returning cast consists of Coral Peña (Chemical Hearts, Thelma), Cynthy Wu (Before I Fall, Holidate), Daniel Stern (Home Alone, Rookie of the Year), Edi Gathegi (The Harder They Fall, Superman), Joel Kinnaman (The Suicide Squad, Silent Night), Krys Marshall (Raincheck Romance, Alone in the Dark), Svetlana Efremova (Stick It, The Elder Son), Toby Kebell (Fantastic Four, Warcraft), Tyner Rushing (Jumanji: The Next Level, Echoes) and Wrenn Schmidt (Preservation, Outcast). Costa Ronin (The Americans, The Endgame) and Mireille Enos (The Killing, World War Z) were made known prior as new series regulars.
Via Deadline, the season four logline states that this season will take place eight years after the previous one and follows: “Happy Valley rapidly expanded its footprint on Mars by turning former foes into partners. Now 2003, the focus of the space program turns to the capture and mining of extremely valuable, mineral-rich asteroids that could change the future of both Earth and Mars. But simmering tensions between the residents of the now-sprawling international base threaten to undo everything they were working toward.”
Deadline stated that Asserson will act as A.J. Jarrett, a US Marine who is being trained for a space assignment. Cruz will play Lily Dale, daughter of Amanda, played by Shannon Lucio (The O.C., Prison Break), and Kebbell’s character, Miles Dale. Kaufman will portray Alex Poletov Baldwin, the grandson of Kinnaman’s character Ed and son of Wu’s character Kelly Baldwin.
Asserson is represented by Artists First, The Artists Partnership and CAA. Per Deadline, she will star in King and Conqueror, a CBS drama series. Her past credits include the television series Heirs of the Night and the 2022 film Royalteen.
Cruz became a fan-favorite after her appearance in the Queer coming-of-age movie Bottoms which also starred Ayo Edebiri (The Bear, Inside Out 2) and Rachel Sennott (Shiva Baby, Saturday Night). Deadline mentions that she will be seen in an indie movie called The Threesomes with Zoe Deutch (Before I Fall, Everybody Wants Some) and Jonah Hauer King (The Little Mermaid, A Dog’s Way Home). Additionally, she will have a major role in The Sex Lives of College Girls. Representing her is Gersh and Landsburg Management.
Kaufman is well-known for his role as Steven in The Summer I Turned Pretty. His other works are Walker, Manifest and FBI Most Wanted. His representation comes from Jackoway Austen Tyerman Wertheimer Mandelbaum Morris Bernstein Trattner Auerbach Hynick Jaime LeVine Sample & Klein, CESD Talent Agency and Tsu Tsu Unlimited.
Produced by Sony Pictures Television, For All Mankind is created by Ben Nedivi (Wicked Little Things, Baltimore), Ronald D. Moore (Battle Star Galáctica, Caprica) and Matt Wolper (The Umbrella Academy, Fargo). Nedivi and Wolper will be the season five showrunners. They will executively produce with Maril Davis (Star Treck: Insurrection, Outlander) and Moore for Tall Ship Productions, as well as Bradley Thompson (Battlestar Galáctica, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), David Weddle (Falling Water, The Strain), Kira Snyder (The Handmaid’s Tale, The Penguin) and Seth Edelstein (Better Call Saul, American Crime Story). No further details about the season five overview or release date have been disclosed.
