‘Saturday Night Live’ Season 48, Final Guest Stars & Musical Appearances

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the final lineup of guest stars and musical accompaniments have been confirmed for the forty-eighth season of Saturday Night Live. The long-running sketch show began again on October 1st on NBC, with four new cast members making their debuts in 2023: Marcello Hernandez, Molly Kearney, Michael Longfellow and Devon Walker.

SNL experienced an unprecedented amount of departures after the end of season 47 last year with such stars such as Pete Davidson (Bodies, Bodies, Bodies, King of Staten Island, The Dirt), Kate McKinnon (Ghostbusters, Bombshell, Joe vs Carole), Kyle Mooney (Bob’s Burgers, Zoolander 2, Digman!), and Aidy Bryant (Human Resources, Shrill, The Big Sick) leaving the cast. Following suit were Alex Moffat (Uncle John, 80 for Brady, Home Economics), Melissa Villaseñor (Hubie Halloween, Toy Story 4, Night Court), and Chris Redd (The Simpsons, The Joker, Popstar) who decided to quit shortly after the rest.

Below is a formatted list of the remaining guest stars and musical appearances of the season that started off with Miles Teller (Top Gun: Maverick, Whiplash, Fantastic Four) with Kendrick Lamar (Humble, Bad Blood, Pray for Me) for the season premiere in October

April 1: Host – Quinta Brunson (History of the World Part II, Abbot Elementary, Miracle Workers), Musical Guest – Lil Yachty (Yacht Club, Speed Me Up, Coffin)

April 8: Host – Molly Shannon (A Night at the Roxbury, The White Lotus, How the Grinch Stole Christmas), Musical Guest – Jonas Brothers (S.O.S., Lovebug, Only Human)

April 15: Host – Ana de Armas (Blade Runner 2049, Knives Out, The Gray Man), Musical Guest – Karol G (Provenza, Tusa, MAMIII)

Saturday Night Live experienced a mass exodus of long-time players, a record breaking event never seen in SNL history. Though many fan-favorite sketch artists will not be returning, their exit give room for new and fresh comedians to showcase their skills of satire.
