‘Saturday Night Live’ Hits High Ratings with Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake

SNL drew in the highest rating numbers in nearly two years from its episode featuring Fallon and Timberlake.

Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake closed out 2013 for Saturday Night Live, delivering its best number in nearly two years.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the SNL episode that aired on December 21 averaged a 6.3 ratings and 16 share among households in Nielsen’s 56 metered markets.  The last time the series reached such high ratings was in January 7, 2012 when the host was Charles Barkley.

Among adults (18-49), the show had a 3.9 ratings. The last episode of SNL to perform so well in the key demo was when Timberlake hosted the 2011 season finale to a 4.5 adults 18-49 rating.

That segment also marks the highest pre-Christmas SNL edition since December 2004 when Robert de Niro was the host and Destiny’s Child performed.
