According to TVLine, Emmy winner Sarah Paulson (Ocean’s 8, Bird Box, Run), is set to lead in the television adaptation drama of Untamed, the bestselling memoir. The Hollywood Reporter claims that in the upcoming weeks, the studio will show the project—which is based on a memoir by Glennon Doyle (Love Warrior: A Memoir, Carry,On Warrior)—to possible investors. A full cast has yet to be confirmed.
Untamed will star Paulson as memoirist Glennon Doyle, a disgruntled mother and wife who embarks on a difficult journey of self-discovery after becoming attracted to a female.
Krista Vernoff (Rebels, The Uglies), a former showrunner for Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19, will write the adaptation, according to TVLine. This is her first TV project since leaving Grey’s and Station 19 last year. After being released in 2020, Untamed topped the New York Times nonfiction bestseller list for seven weeks in a row, selling over two million copies.
The Hollywood Reporter claims that additional executive producers will be Jessie Nelson (Apple’s Little Voice, Waitress: The Musical), Vernoff’s husband and producer partner Alexandre Schmitt (The Dreamers, Big Kiss), and Andrew Stearn (Shameless, Animal Kingdom) through the trio’s Trip the Light Productions.
